We have people on this list who have been completely opposed to the idea of registering and breeding to AKC dogs. Maybe we could ask for a cool, calm, discussion of what it would take for them to feel comfortable with the situation. I would like for the proposal to follow the guidelines of the MVD protocal, 2.5 years old and fully tested with 5 year old heart clear parents, and for both clubs to co-sponsor some educational seminars and booklets. For instance, at the CKCSC Nationals, and at the AKC Nationals, both clubs should co-sponsor health testing days, and co-host seminars open to all that can teach the importance of health testing your dogs, and the disease process itself. I've already spoken to the president of our local AKC club, Nancy Rice Waggoner about the possibility of working together on the education of the members and she felt that if our parent club was in agreement, it might fly. So.....my question to you, Rod, and to you Kathy, is what would you like to see as far as the requirements set by CKCSC in order for us to be able to breed to AKC only dogs and bitches?
