Gerri,

This is news to me - pre-AKC in order to register a litter with the CKCSC,
USA, the sire and dam had to be registered with the club.....or so I was
always told. As a matter of fact, I can remember an instance where someone
was advised against breeding an import at a time when the registry had a
very slow turn-around (6+ months) as it was likely that the imported parent
- given the time it took then for UK paperwork to come thru plus the lag
time in the club's registry - would not be registered before the puppies
were 6 months old or older...
