My foundation was mostly bred in the UK, Jo Ann. (Well.......the second round of foundation stock I should say.) However, my wonderful friend and mentor said very stridently that it was high time that I bred my own. I was encouraged to seek dogs here in the U.S. I think that is right, too.
We owe a huge debt (and always will) to the U.K. But, I think we need to breed our champions (like you did), and not always buy them. I'm working very hard now to finish the last point on my Bred By girl. I think that the Bred By class here in the U.S. is a most important one.
