I don't understand. If perhaps on the VERY rare chance they were lost in the mail, don't you think you could get new originals from the participating specialist? I know I have lost my own originals and was able to get a replacement easily. Hips are sent to OFA and listed, I know they would send a new one since it would be listed there already--and because I called about one I lost just last week. Patellas can easily be redone for free by my vet the next time I was there. Hearts and eyes are done every year. When eyes are done the ophthalmologist keeps one copy--don' they? Why wouldn't they write a replacement one if you sent them a self-addressed, stamped envelope? Maybe with hearts you could ask for two copies--one for you and one for the Registry? Has anyone tried this? I know one year the cardiologist didn't have any OFA forms--he only used the club form. So I sent him copies of all my heart clearances, along with the OFA forms filled out. The cardiologist willingly signed the OFA forms for me and mailed them back in the self-addressed stamped envelope I sent him. Come to think of it, I send all my heart clearances to OFA and they require the originals. I make copies of each to keep for my records. I have the original OFA certificate in each dog's file instead. So I don't have any original, signed-by-the-cardiologist, heart clearances in my house anyway.
