Winnie Do you think that the fear of being sued is going to encourage people to continue to be "involved" to run the club that you all claim to care so much about??? Would you want to be a member on a board that was being sued ??? Being on a board is a ton of work.......this I know from being CNE's secretary a few years ago. It requires attending meetings all over the place, traveling and hotel expenses and committing to being there for all of the meetings, not to mention the endless hours spent sitting at the computer typing minutes, sending out agendas, etc. The people that do these things do it because they love this breed and this club........but let me tell you, it is not easy to find people willing to take these positions on and for sure, it will be even more difficult in the future because of this lawsuit. When was the last time you volunteered to work at a show, be the head of a national or regional committee or a board member? Without our volunteers, there will be no club. Just ask any showchair what a nightmare it is to get volunteers to help run the shows. I really try to stay out of these conversations as I feel as the list owner, I am here to moderate.......but I am really struggling with the mindset behind all of this nonsense.
