Winnie, I can understand a breeder getting mad enough to sue a club over
rules or situations that affected their breeding program. I cannot
understand a pet owner getting mad enough to sue the club. It doesn't affect
him personally. He will never purchase a puppy that came from AKC only X
dual registered parentage so why the overkill? It seems unnatural for a pet
owner to care to that extent about something that will never affect him.

If anyone ever had a good reason to sue the club, it would have been me--
particularly the libel and slander that happened before and after I
published my Cavalier magazine 12 years ago. I never seriously considered of
suing because I had a life other than dogs.

I love my dogs, but I have an extended family, a husband, a daughter, and,
now, a college career. I have other things to do with my short time on this
earth. When it is all said and done, all we have in this life is "time". I
want live wisely and well for the remaining time that I have left. I want to
accomplish certain goals with our dogs, I want to get that doctorate in
genetics, I want to spend time with William and Erin. Why fill up the
precious time with lawsuits that really don't mean a hill of beans in the
long run? Why make the lives of other people miserable? That's what I can't
understand, Winnie. Why Rod doesn't have something better to do with his
time.

All the best,
Susan Cochran
