Myra,
I have used chilled semen breeding several times. I use the ICSB kits and
have taken progesterone tests sent to the lab. Most of my breedings have
resulted with good results. When you get the right day with the progesterone
level and you are shipped good quality sperm I have found only 1 breeding is
necessary.

What I have learned is that when you are depending on the stud dog owner to
ship you good quality sperm and it is not good a second and third shipment is
definitely required.

It takes a committment on both the stud dog owner and bitch owner and great
timing. If you dont get the sperm on the correct day or it is inferior
quality you could risk loosing the whole breeding season. Timing is
everything as well as coordination on both ends.

It is definitely a good way to go it is much easier on the bitch. But as the
bitch owner you are putting the success of your breeding solely in the hands
of FEDEx and the stud dog owner.
