NO the vote was NOT do we want to be the parent club. I believe the vote was..... Do we want to go into AKC. There was to be a second vote after that one which was. If AKC takes the breed against our wishes do we want to be the parent club. We never got to that vote another group did that before we could ask that question. And yes the first question was premature and the wrong question was asked. I called the then president and begged her not to do the vote yet we had lots more talking to do and educating to do but she felt she needed to stop the fighting. However, by putting things to a vote before it's time meant ending all negotiations. We had three to five more years we could have argued but it was such a mess the happy friendly shows turned into such big arguments and debates. No one wanted to listen they just wanted to yell and scream. I remember poor Martha on stage trying to talk to everyone and explain what was happening but hecklers in the crowd would yell and scream about things. I was waiting for the rotten tomatoes to be thrown. We were getting no place fast. It was very very sad. Most of us had an overwhelming feeling of paradise lost and I can't think of the other term but it is where you feel the situation is to big that your opinion would not help. OK Helplessness comes to mind. But anyway. Things are the way they are and the only way to change it is for everyone to become a member and vote.
