Susan, you said it beautifully. We have always done the same....looked for sires and dams in the UK who were over five, with all four parents alive and grandparents still alive. Load those pedigrees with dogs who are still alive and running around the yard at 10 and older. If my boy has parents over five and heart clear and all four grandparents alive and still being shown from time to time.....we will definitely not wait until he is 2.5 to use him for breeding. Myra
