Hi Barbara,
I have had two single pup litters and I can only tell you what we did, right
or wrong it worked for us.
Pup was left with Mom for a few hours then placed in our laps while we
watched TV in the evening. Again in the morning the pup was removed from Mom
and placed in a nice warm lap to be petted and stroked. This went on until
after the pups eyes were open and she was up and walking. She grew up
healthy, happy, and very friendly to everybody. She is outgoing and fun to
have around and is the first to greet everyone be it man or beast. Mom got
less milk and everybody settled down to a big fat pup that grew up into a
lovely bitch named Kate. The happy ending to this fairy tale would be that
she goes on to marry the prince charming blenheim and settles down with 5
little pups of her own;)
THE END.
