Barbara - Hi. I just went through this with my last litter, a singleton boy who is now 9 weeks old. He was 1 lb. 11 oz on his 12th day. I made sure he was always on a fleece pad or something he could get a grip on. I always checked when he was sleeping to make sure he was on his side and not on his stomach. I had the same concerns. I almost think swimmers start earlier than 12 days but am not sure. When He was 3 weeks old he weighed 2 lb 8 oz and I thought he would NEVER walk. But he is fine. He may have started a little later than most but now he runs. Still looks like a "balloon" as someone described him, but he seems healthy and happy and I am sure by the time he is 12 weeks old, he will be just like any other "normal" Cavalier. If you have any questions, feel free to email me privately.
