Good morning All. I'm sure someone will have the answer to this question. I had a little girl with diahrea after having her babies. A friend gave me a few Flagyl pills telling me that her vet had assured her that it was quite safe to give to a nursing Mum. I gave her just two half pills, one morning and evening, and she was totally cleared up. The write up on the web regarding Flagyl for humans however, states quite clearly that pregnant and nursing women should avoid taking it as it passes quite readily to unborn babies and in breast milk. I'm sure it's the same ingredient as I've read is in the one used for dogs so I'm wondering what others know about this. Also, I'm wondering whether this medication for dogs can be obtained without a prescription, preferably in Canada, but, if not, then in the US. And another quicky which I'd like to ask while I'm at it....it there a substitute for Total cereal in the satin ball remedy. I was about to make it for a little 10 month old I have who has not much interest in eating but I can't find Total cereal anywhere in my area. Thanks a Bunch
