Hi Chris Medically can't really say if flagyl (metrodizanole) is harmful to moms and young babies. But I do know when I had the runs in a litter the vet didn't want me to give the mom or babies anything until the babies were about 6 weeks as stools had protoza in them (more than normal :o) This is an antibiotic so "normal" treatment is 2x a day for 5 days. This is also a product that you can purchase without a prescription through catalogs labeled as Fish-zole. Purchased as flagyl or metrodinazole you would need a prescription.
