Perhaps. However, that does not explain how VERY many
cavaliers there were with perfectly rounded ear
feathers. This was my 4th CKCSC show. Maybe I just
didn't know what to look for before, or maybe I was
paying attention to other things, but I was certainly
amazed (and a wee bit chagrined) at how very many
cavaliers had seemingly perfectly sculpted ear
feathers at the old club show this weekend. And, it
didn't seem to me that these dogs were being excluded
from placing and winning classes (and more). Maybe
judges are looking at other things too.

To an impressionable novice (like me), it was also
interesting to see who was on the other end of the
lead of the cavaliers with such ear feathering. Does
it grow that way? And on so many cavaliers? Or is it
just growing that way in some of the lines? Or maybe
it is a particular brand of kibble/diet? Inquiring
minds want to know...

I didn't notice the feet or the v-shape. But I have
listened as many people tell me something like
"So-and-so showed me how to trim feet so that it looks
natural." Very interesting.

I think I'll stick with wash-and-wear-Teddy for now.
It's all I can do to keep up with trying to get rid of
the pee stains <grn>. It was a fun show, and there
were so very many absolutely GORGEOUS cavaliers in
attendance -- trimmed or not. What a fun weekend.
Even my kids had fun! Did you hear that there were 9
kids in the junior children's handling class and 2 in
the senior class? Just makes me want to find the
money to go again as soon as I can.
