Simple Green is a nontoxic biodegradeable industrial cleaner and degreaser. It is safe to use on non porous surface to clean, degrease or deodorize. It has a pleasant piney licorice smell. I love it for cleaning up greasy splatters on my stove. Since it is not recommended for non porous surfaces, I would wonder about using it on carpets.
