I have found quite a few improperly configured MTAs that are spewing out
SPAM. These are virtually always on a *nix system since the common Win32
user does not have an MTA installed by default. I have seen numerous
posts on the Postfix forum for instance where a novice user has
configured his mail server as an open relay. While this is not exactly
a VIRUS/PHISHING problem in itself, I find it rather strange that you
can state that you have never seen either originate from other than a
Windows machine.
