How can people trust any Open Source software if someone else decides at will which operational systems are being shut down, which services are being interrupted.

By configuring your systems to be tolerant of such failures of software which will happen for a variety of reasons.

Sorry, try to read my statement and your answer again to see if you make any sense...

Again, you (who ever was responsible for this malware action within the ClamAV project) are not in a rightful position to shut down an operational system/service. Even if such a system is not able to update with the latest signatures, that doesn't render it inoperable. It is solely up the operator/owner of that system to take responsibility for any issues beyond that, the ClamAV project has no business interfering with that...

Thank you Ralf for having taken the time to investigate my qualifications. I am sure you have used what you consider due diligence in your investigation. With that investigation, can you tell me who, when, how I slandered any one? I have not resorted to calling anyone names.

I don't see any point in wasting any time to go through the last two days of posts as you do not seem to even start to see any wrong doing on your part. For me personally, not surprising...

Also, it is you who are slandering as I am not connected in any way with the ClamAV team except as a user. As such I did not affect anyones system in any way.

For one I referred to your arrogant behavior against several people that complaint about the whole issue. And I referred to the irresponsible behavior of the ClamAV project. If you are a part of that project is irrelevant at this point...

This is as far as I will directly comment on this issue on the mailing list. The damage is done and the right thing to do is to make sure such actions won't happen again, setting an example for other projects to begin with. Or Open Source will be doomed forever...
