Ok, another question, what kind of partition is it?  FAT32, NTFS?

Another question: I assume since this machine has no floppy that you are
booting from the CD.  Do you have another bootable CD available (Win2000,
another Linux distro, OpenBSD) that has a disk partitioning component to its
installer that could get rid of the partition for you?
