My only real concern with MySQL is that it doesn't support stored procedures
- and they are a cornerstone to any decent database driven application.

Now, I could be wrong, I've been hearing rumors that the next version was
supposed to support SPs, and that might be out already for all I know.... I
don't know if Postgres supports SPs or not.

(For the record, Oracle, Sybase, and MS SQL Server support SPs).

I guess I don't have any clever technical answer to give you. It's just that
I've been to www.mysql.com and really liked what I saw. It gave me the
"impression" that there's a lot of support and it's very popular database
engine. I've also spent quite a bit of time already getting familiar with it
and don't have a lot of time to start getting acquainted with another
database engine. I wouldn't mind trying postgress, but perhaps with another
project.

Would you mind sharing with me why you prefer Postgres over MySQL?

Thank you Andrew.

Raph.
