Hi all, I need some help/suggestions with printing. All help/suggestions are highly appreciated.
Here is the configuration. Linux box 1: ------------ RH 8.0 - Server, eth0 (DHCP to shaw cable), eth1 (my LAN). Printer connected to the parallel port and configured with queue name 'server-printer', and local test print is a success. Linux box 2: ------------ RH 8.0 - Workstation, eth0 (lan). Went thru 'System Setting' -- 'printing' and supplied all the parameters. Test print - Never prints to the printer connected to box# 1. After digging into the documentation, created a (as su) /etc/hosts.lpd and put ip address of box# 2. Opened the /etc/lpd.perms and put a line to accept from all hosts on the subnet. But no effect, it just won't work. Thanks for all help. - Emin
