Since you would not be intrested in the legacy system anymore, then it would 
be very easy to get rid of it entirely :-)
First , when you re boot your puter from the mdk cd, choose the installation 
(new) menu item :-)
Then you will be able to use diskDruid to create partitions, first delete the 
partition the legacy os was hogging before. Then you should see an empty 
disk...
Now create boot partition , should be around 70-100 megs (i hope i am wrong 
here...) then create your root partition, about 2 gigs should be enough root 
= /)
then you may create the /home to take the rest of the disk minus your ram*2 
space which you will create as swap partition. That should be ok.
But the partitioning options do not end here, and there could be at least 5 
more variations available.

If you hit difficulty , just fire away, i should be around for a while :-)
