Richard:

I hope to be able to prove you wrong about Linux and desktops--not in 2 years but within 2 weeks. I'm a fairly conservative person and won't bet you on it, but when I receive a new distro from my partner, in about 2 weeks time, let's see how things stack up. From the testing my partner has already done, I truly believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Enough said by me on the subject of Desktops for now, here I am (a newbie) still trying to install my first Linux!

How is it that people thing that a distribution is ready for hte desktop?

I AM NOT against Linux, do not get me wrong.
I think Linux will overtake the OS market.
(I viciously hate microsoft) You have no idea.

Still, I do not think Linux is ready for the desktop for anotehr 2 years
yet.. My honest opinion. Of which, I try, to be, unbiased.

Richard.
