Hi 'all. Merry seasons to you.

I was over at my son-in-law's demo'ing knoppix for him yesterday. He has a p3-450mhz with 128 mb. It booted up and ran okay, albeit slowly, mostly due to the low memory onboard, I would suspect. But the demor went okay except for the access to the internet. On my system, I've got Shaw High speed cable. It just worked. Mozilla, konquerer or whatever. On his system, though, it failed to connect through to the internet. The only difference between his box and mine that might be causing the problem, is he is using telus adsl high speed. Needless to say, I did not suggest calling telus for assistance. But I thought some one in this group might have an idea on what to do to get online. Is there some secret handshake or setup for the adsl modems to check and see if they are recognized and running properly?

Thanx, 'all.
