Hello all,
I recently upgraded from MDK 8.2 to 9.0 and now it won't start back up
in X. I have tried so many changes with the XF86Config-4 file by
googling, and still end up with the same results. I can't find anything
about this particular issue, I can find similar items but they aren't
helping at all.
I have checked the XFree86.0.log after each change I made and initially
it warned about the (ww)Option "XkbOptions" requires a string value. It
had XkbOptions "" in the config file.
I added a boolean value of "no" and then "yes" to see if it made any
difference in the results but the value did stop the error in the file log.
X worked great in 8.2, from a clean install, and from what I can gather
from the (root)console, 9.0 upgraded without a hitch minus the X. I have
a S3 Savage2000 video card. Keyboard and mouse are standard issue.
I can post the XF86Config-4, log file or other info upon request, as I
don't wan't to post unnecessary files to the list. I have spent many
hours reading the "fine" manual ;-) and getting nowhere. If any one
would like to take a crack at this problem, I would be very grateful.
Cheers
Mike Fitton
