Any good administrator needs not work as root.  A good administrator will have 
completely encrypted file systems and work as user with the least privileges 
of all.  Except the administrator will have the password for encryptions.  
And, any GOOD administrator never does HIS work on a computer connected to 
the network.  The files needed are copied, unencrypted, and then problems 
solved.   And then the same administrator will put the necessary files back 
in place as root while ports are closed and all others are snuffed.  : )
