I am not a geek! Now if you'll excuse me I am busy downloading an
episode of Star Trek from Kazaa, reading e-mails from the Linux users
group, and studying networking :-)

No, Slackware is not based on Debian. Slackware uses it's own package
format which is pretty basic from I've heard (ie. no dependency
checking, no apt).
