Hi Cameron
Your hardware seems to P1 200 Mhz. 2-3 Gigs of disk 96M ram
sounds ok
For most of the distros. you could install mdk9.0, or maybe 9.1 if it is out
of beta by then :-) , but that may be a bit too heavy for the P1. Or maybe a
redhat 8.0, would be nice. i could also get a 7.1 or 7.2 but not sure yet :-)
slackware is a very old distro, it is a one person kind of distro, distinct
from debian. It uses .tgz packages etc. You would like it if you like to do
things the simple way, but it does not have a lot of them automatic update
things and the dependency checking is also left for your own skills :-)
The disks are ok for any distro you may choose, specially if Linux is going
to be the only os on them.
Make sure you have a nic in them, so they could be setup and configured. also
bring your network's details with you.
I wouls asume you have no modems installed, so will not check for possible
winmodems.

Cheers
Szemir
