See I don't mind getting my hands dirty. It's just that I wasn't
expecting quicksand, (example: trying to update samba-server and
requiring to upgrade everything including the kitchen sink.) I was
expecting most tools to be more independent which I found false.
To upgrade rpm I was required to upgrade perl and vim? This is
something I expect from microsoft where you need to upgrade everything
when something new comes out, (slap me and correct me if I'm wrong.) I
mean requiring to upgrade vim I don't think is needed for perl, samba
nor rpm. Would this be a urpmi, rpm issue? (I hope)
I don't mind installing from source, but if a standard desktop user
wanted to upgrade an application and was hit with this problem I don't
think it would look very good for linux.
