I never had a problem with suse, but I know that with the gui install
with mandrake I have to hit all the buttons on the mouse and scroll the
wheel to configure it. Not sure if this is the problem or not. The last
suse I tryed was 8.0 and it was all automatic. (generic wheel mouse)
