Um, those scripts are a lot better than my "automation", mostly because it looks like they use time sync (time stamps always important in DNS) and at least some basic error handling.
I would highly recommend trying/modifying them over straight commands in the /etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd_e.exe file (like I would've done). :-P Although, you will note, it is using the IPADDR shell variable to convey the new IP address to the DNS servers. Yep, I did try the delete command. But, being a newbie at nsupdate, I probably didn't get it right. I'm digging into it some more now, and will be testing scripts against my router/dns. Curtis (and anyone else following this thread), I found this link (via google search for "nsupdate script": http://dag.wieers.com/howto/bits/bind-ddns.php It appears to do what you're trying to do - trigger a script when the IP changes. It goes even further and discusses how to configure things for DDNS. I think the problem here is that Superreal doesn't appear to be using BIND. But the client side stuff (without the keys) might work... more playing for me.... I may be asking the obvious here but have you tried using the delete command in nsupdate or are you just using it to add a new entry? -- Personal: Trevor Lauder Web: http://www.thelauders.net E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Work: Trevor Lauder Technical Services Specialist Wireless Networks Inc.
