Thanks Jesse I followed the instructions here http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/aoezcan_cdrom.html and it seems fixed now but I still dont know what I did to screw it up in the first place. <sigh> guess I'm just going to have to sit down and actually LEARN this stuff instead of just playing with it
