Hello all, I have a question I want to throw out. Currently at work I'm running Redhat 7.2 using Gnome (1.4?). I'm all happy with it and I can get all my work done with it. But seeing the new features of the newer versions of KDE and Gnome have me itching to install all newer DE. Since this is my work computer I don't want to lose my ability to use my current DE. Thus I have decided that I wan't to install KDE along side my current Gnome. It is imparative that I can run my current Gnome DE since I am doing work on this. So I don't want to damage my system. I also know that upgrading the whole system to RH9 would probably be easier but since it is a work computer I don't want to chance it. Thus the following questions come up.

1. Upon scanning the KDE site there were only Redhat 9 rpm packages. Are there builds for 7.2 that I'm missing? (I can only find KDE2.2.2) or do I have to deal with updating all the dependencies so that I can install the RH9 rpm?

2. Would it be worth installing KDE 3.1.3?

3. What things should I be cautious of when installing and messsing around with KDE? ( This will probably be done over lunch or after work so I don't want to be stuck having a 1/2 working system.)

Any help and comments are appreciated.
