this is an increasingly common strategy. i've been aproached previously by MS employees regarding Linux and why i feel it's so great. there was a whole campaign in Vancouver around this theme earlier this year. my opinion: don't give them anything, except perhaps that what makes Linux so great is that it's an Ope Source / Free Software product. all the things make it worth using waterfall from that single fact. trying to mimic the end results of that process is sort of like trying to cure a disease by treating the symptoms: it's not a great way of doing things. if MS wants to make their products truly great, they need to Free(dom) them. i have no desire to see a better closed source Windows. or, to be fair, a better closed source MacOS either. freedom is where it's at and anything else will be weak in all the ways Free systems are strong. - -- Aaron J.
