Two things (quickly)

This was especially amusing because the M$ crew is constantly sending me
freebies to try and get me to sell their software. For example, I have a
free copy of the Win Server 2003 beta, and a free copy of Win 2K server
with a 5 seat license along with the $80+ MCSE book. Both packages were
sent absolutely free (but with the express condition that I not resell
them) because someone at M$ knows that I do IT consulting.

If they want to keep sending them, I suppose that's fine. I may find a
system to install them on someday, just to see how they work. Then again
I may not. Until then, they'll gather dust on my shelf.

Second;

The reason that I am more interested in OSS and the OSC than I am M$
products is precisely because of how the people on this group have
jumped in to help Evan. If he was running a server with M$ products on
it, he would have had to wait on the phone until an M$ tech could have
made it to him, then he would have to pray that M$ was still providing
tech support for the specific flavour of NT that he was running, and
that all of his licensing dues were up to date, and that...you get the
idea.

Instead, he sends one e-mail out and gets flooded with very specific and
very helpful comments from very knowledgeable people.

Two thumbs up to CLUG and its members.
