Good luck with your quest, Andrew. Just like to pass on some second-hand info I had received about the CBE from one of my instructors. The IT policy is controlled by the main office (or IT department) of the CBE and not by the individual schools. Their policy is fairly strict and restrictive. Your principal and tech are most likely following policy and do not wish any backlash from the IT department.
