A friend of mine who works for the "student tech squad" talked to the tech, who talked 
to the assistant principal.  He should be expecting them, and if he is making a 
decision as we speak, this could help him

As for IT policy (mentioned by someone else), I think there is a certain amount of 
leeway given to individual schools.
