I am not familiar enough with the actual economics of large scale networks to comment on this. Any opinions from those in the know would be interesting. If Linux professionals "demand premiums on their salaries" will they actually get them? Is the warranty extensions offered by Microsoft, for a large company that valuable when compared to the cost of buying a license (relative to the above noted "premium" for one/several Linux professionals)?
