Incoming from ROBERT LEWKO: > > I was working on a contract during august through october on a contract and I saw Access lose 3 days data, I saw exchange down at least 3 times, I saw Squeel server down 4 times and I saw oracle down once. Oh yeah, I saw file serving down for an afternoon during the Blaster attack!
On one of my more recent contracts, the entire organization (thousands of employees, multiple sites) lost connectivity for days, and email wasn't fully back to normal until two weeks after their Wintendo servers were brought down by various forms of mail-borne malware. It's absolutely stunning to see people sticking with that crap even after all that. How in the world can any modern business stand an outage like that and continue on "business as usual?" -- Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
