And what better way of showing off linux than knoppix? And there's also an open source iso, which contains lots of utilities and applications (i've forgotten what the name of it is) for those who use windows. Even if someone chooses not to use linux, they can make a different decision about open source in general. I'll see if i can find it.

Yes Andrew.
Installfests are the events when linux gets installed on computers. Also trouble installs/hardware are welcome, where a bunch of the (more fluent) members can have a go at it. Also it is an event to show-of open-source and linux.

I just thought that as a group we would be aware of things going on and
would make efforts to try and get as many people out to them as possible.
But whatever...I guess thats why I am not an executive, and just a lowly
tier one member. ;-)

There is a point where trying to let everyone decide when something
happens makes it impossible to decide. This is in no way meant to exclude
anyone.

You can't please everyone, hence my original comment that we hold more
than one of these a year so if you can't make this one, perhaps you can
make the next one.

The last meeting showed me that this is a good time to hold such an event
as we had a record number of attendees at the meeting. It's also been
over a month since the last InstallFest and I would like to see one of
these every month or so if we have the volunteers and the interest.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Installfests were just a chance
to install a distro with some help around. I don't know about anyone
else, but I would just go to one.
