No, I don't have any front audio connectors.

That's a good idea, I'll pop in a copy of Knoppix at test it out when I
get a chance. I also went through the skype docs without any luck, but I
will give it a closer look. It's not just skype that won't work, but any
application that takes input from the mic.

That's true, I appreciate all your help. I'll let you know how my
Knoppix test goes.
