Hello all,

I can receive email from telus using kmail, but can not send it. I contacted my
internet service provider and he said that my setting of smtp.telusplanet.net is
correct.

I am sending you this message by web mail with telus as I can not use kmail at
this time.

I upgraded my hard drive and installed knoppix 3.7 on my hard drive.

Mike, the technician at telus said that my setting of smtp.telusplanet.net is
correct, but that perhaps the firewall is enabled.

Under my old system I had firewall disabled at boot up. Is it possible that
Knoppix 3.7 has a firewall set up on boot up and that that is what is causing my
problems with Kmail?

If so, then how do I disable the firewall on start up?

I am behind a four port router and therefore do not need a firewall activated as
long as I do not open suspicious email.

Any help I appreciate in advance

Regards,

Michael Walters - tier two member
