Issuing sudo kcontrol brings up the KDE Control Center in superuser mode and
it shows the Network settings properly. Found this in ubuntuforums.org, very
helpful. I still think it's strange that the windows behave a certain way
when invoked one way and then behave a different way when invoked in another
way.
