I'm a new to Linux guy that just received Suse 10.0 in the mail last week. I love it except I can not get my Brother HL-760 to print from the D-link router's parallel print server.
First I turned on the printer then Using YaST2 I configured the parallel port lp1 giving it an I/O address of //192.168.0.1 then a Queue name "printer". for printer model I selected Brother HL-760 and tested. I kept getting all kinds of port communication errors so I checked my syntax and tried various types of derivations, nothing worked. I searched the net and did not come up with much, I went back and experimented with some CUPS settings.
I am very determined but after working at this for three days my patience is starting to run out. The D-Link DI-704P .pdf said the router works with Linux but gives no indication how to configure the printer port for Linux.
Please help if you can.
