Ok folks, I'm fed up. Ubuntu is fun. Gnome blows. I want to switch to KDE.

The last time I did an "apt-get install kde-desktop" there were
remnants of the old republic that I could not sweep away. I am
thinking of re-installing Kubuntu but I don't want to lose my /home
dirs again.

My HDD is ReiserFS partionned. Can I create a new partition and then
back up existing /home to the new dir and then re-install?

Is this a dumb idea?

~Mike
