"why the god damned hard line stance, aaron? why do you have to be such a hardass?" because when people cling to windows, then when they come across something that doesn't quite work because it's non-portable and non-windows-unfriendly they just flip over to windows instead of looking for alternatives or passing the complaint on to the people responsible for the lack of non-windows support. the additional personal inconvenience becomes a crutch which helps prevent people from supporting their os of choice because they never hear about it and their target market isn't affected enough. i completely understand that this sort of short-term-gain-in-spite-of-long-term-pain-and-not-truly-being-in-my-best-interest is something we've made a cornerstone "feature" of our culture of consumerism and sociopolitical apathy, but that doesn't mean i like it or respect the practitioners of it. -- Aaron J.
