We are trying to let people know as early as possible the up coming topics for our CLUG GM. Is there anyone in the group willing to give a talk in the up coming months, it is always nice to be able to plan a bit in advance. If you know something about a topic and are willing to talk about it let me know off-list.
If you would like to hear about a topic maybe mention it on list so that the community can contribute and add some structure to the topic. Can't guarantee that we will be able to find a speaker, but we sure can try. Szemir, how is the Postgres load balancing thing coming along. Samba, I might be able to do that one myself in a month or two, but if someone else is comfortable, my feelings won't be hurt if you volunteer. Multimedia - transcoding, video production and sound production, there has been some discussion on this topic but we haven't confirmed a speaker or a time. Let me know if this is something that you would want to speak on. Linux appliances - Shawn did a post recently on OpenMoko which segue to this topic nicely. While we have a large amount of effort re-purposing computers to be firewalls, proxy servers, email servers, web servers, file servers, asterisk servers, etc - the cost of electricity, cooling and space is on the rise and sometimes it is worth the money to use an appliance. Anyone out there have knowledge about SBC (small board computers) and how they work with Linux. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
