Hi Simon, Vfx has donated 2 systems for giveaway, like door prises or any
other way , they dont want them back ...
the other 8 systems are for show, and would go back to Vfx after the show ...
I do agree with you, 8 systems is a bit too much, but the original idea was to
have one with CUUG and one with COSG do show OpenSolaris and FreeBSD, but
those 2 have fallen through, so now we would have 6 systems for Linux, and i
was thinking a Kubuntu, a Ubuntu, a Mandriva, a Fedora and a DSL
installation, and left one empty with an open to suggestions status ...

Now you are saying Vmware ... I don't know, it will sure be less accessible
due to the fact that one person (testing) would essentially hog all the
systems at the same time.... Single mouse/keyboard/monitor .
Anyways, the idea has until end of today, if it does not gain any traction we
just drop it, and bring the 2 donation systems.

It does not reduce the workload on the volunteers handling the Distros,
without the display systems, they would have to verbally explain how does
each distro look and feel, with the systems, they could just let the
prospectors hit the systems and point at the system they liked the most ...
The idea is, each visitor would get a (ticket) for one Linux Distro to take
home, and they would want to make a choice ....

Cheers
Szemir
