Jessie was answering my question on "lives" and was asking me what distro I was using. Its ubuntu 6.06lts. What im trying to do is take all my digital holiday, christmas ect pictures and avi video... compile them in a nice show with some titles, possible effects, background music and possible naration into a nice home video on DVD. there will also be a need to edit some video in terms of cutting it as 5 min of my kid dribbling the basketball might be too much.
I am relitivly new to linux so some terms I might not understand but I went through trying to get "lives" working on my machine with czmir and there is no way for me anyway. also, its more of a studio type system. I just want a home type system that is maintained as my knowledge in all the other stuff is just enough to make me dangerous to myself. Suggestions and where/how to load would be great!! The next question after I get this one figured out is how do I get my HDB on the system. I have the jumper set on slave and its formatted.... cant remember where, I think in nautilus I saw it on the system..... how do I get access to it now. thanx alot!.
