Sounds like one of two things to me: 1) CD ROM drive's audio cable is not hooked up to the internal sound card 2) CDDA support is not enabled somewhere And as a far shot, I suppose it could be the old problem of PEBKAC where you are trying to play an audio CD that is mounted (is this still a problem?) but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt there. What software package are you using to play the disc? What happens when you try to rip the CD using a recently developed audio package? Do you get usable files? Recent ones may use CDDA, while older ones may use the CD ROM drive's audio output. -Mark C. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
