Is it necessary to switch both monitors from one kvm?  It seems like
it may be cheaper to get 2 KVMs, one to handle one monitor +
everything else, and a second just to handle the other monitor (this
could even just be a "dumb" DVI switch.)  This may even be preferable
depending on the purpose of each computer (have one monitor displaying
stuff you need to keep track of on one computer while working on the
other computer.)

With VGA, there could be a downside of the video signals coming
through differently (either affecting the color or the fuzziness,) but
with DVI, it shouldn't be a problem.

Sounds like a fun set-up!
